Job Summary:
- The Academic Officer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and academic excellence of the English Language Centers/the partner schools. The role involves curriculum development, teacher support, student progress monitoring, and maintaining high-quality educational standards.
- The Academic Officer works closely with the teaching staff, administrative team, and students to foster an optimal learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Assist in designing, updating, and implementing a dynamic English language curriculum that aligns with the center's goals and student needs.
- Teacher Support: Provide academic guidance to teaching staff, ensuring they have the resources and tools to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
- Student Progress Monitoring: Oversee student assessments and evaluations, ensuring progress is tracked and communicated to both students and parents (where applicable).
- Quality Assurance: Monitor classroom practices and ensure teaching methodologies align with the center's standards and objectives.
- Professional Development: Organize and participate in teacher training workshops and seminars to foster continuous professional growth.
- Student Services: Assist in orientation programs, advising students on academic matters, and ensuring they receive appropriate support throughout their studies.
- Administrative Duties: Collaborate with the administrative team in scheduling classes, managing resources, and supporting the overall operational needs of the center.
- Other duties assigned from time to time by the Academic Director.
Qualification and Experience Requirement/ Specifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in education, English, TESOL, or a related field (master's preferred).
- Strong understanding of language teaching methodologies and curriculum design.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with student management systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in an academic administrative role, preferably in an English language center.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently.
- Effective interpersonal skills and a collaborative work ethic.
- Commitment to high standards of academic quality and student satisfaction.
Preferred:
- TESOL or CELTA certification.
- Knowledge of assessment tools and student progress monitoring systems.
