As a Backend Engineer at Filum, you will play a critical role in designing and building scalable and secured backend systems that power our innovative products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems, always striving for the best solutions and going the extra mile to exceed expectations.
What will be your daily work
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and JavaScript.
- Build and optimize APIs using frameworks like FastAPI and NestJS.
- Develop and manage databases using PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Participate in system design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Write efficient, testable, and reusable code to solve complex problems.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure high-quality output.
- Implement security and data protection measures.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and apply them to operations and activities.
- Work closely with the product team to understand end-user requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

You're likely to land the job if you have
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in backend development with a strong focus on Python and JavaScript.
- Proficiency in frameworks such as FastAPI and NestJS.
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases.
- Strong understanding of system design principles and architecture.
- Familiar with SQL; advanced SQL skills are a plus.
- Experience with Agile software development practices and tools like JIRA and Confluence.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a knack for finding the best solutions.
- A proactive mindset with a willingness to go the extra mile to achieve excellence.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
