Job Description
As a Backend Software Engineer at Traveloka, you'll design and develop innovative, high-performance systems that support millions of users globally. You will build software at scale, leverage cutting-edge technologies, and apply your expertise in algorithms, data structures, and design patterns to solve complex problems and meet the evolving needs of our customers.
You will collaborate closely with engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and Operations in a transparent, open environment where your voice is heard and your contributions are valued. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and optimize backend applications, data integrations, APIs, and systems to ensure they are scalable, reliable, and performan
- Develop high-quality, efficient code for projects that require backend expertise.
- Refactor and enhance existing codebases for improved scalability and reliability.
- Monitor backend systems, respond to alerts, and quickly resolve any issues to ensure seamless operation.
- Ensure code is production-ready by considering testability, maintainability, and reliability, and delivering well-tested solutions.
- Participate in engineering best practices such as code reviews, unit and integration testing, and architectural design discussions.
- Be an active participant in your own professional development, propose new ideas, and influence change within the team
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from a reputable university, with a minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with expertise in algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
- A continuous learning mindset with a willingness to stay updated on new technologies, products, and industry trends.
- A strong sense of ownership and commitment to the products owned by your team, as well as the tasks you undertake.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Relevant technical experience (preferably in backend development) with technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, SQL-based RDBMS, cloud infrastructure, and experience writing unit tests is a plus.
- Willingness to relocate to Indonesia.
