Job Description

Responsibilities:

1.Cocoa bean supply management SOURCING

Surveying:

  • Assess the potential of new areas and new fermenters to expand and develop cocoa material areas/ list of suppliers, ensure sustainable cocoa supply.

Selecting Cocoa bean and logistics:

  • Manage and be responsible for the quantity and quality of purchased cocoa beans based on the initial target. Responsible for the process of procuring beans from farm to warehouse and improving fermentation on the farm.
  • Follow-up, figure out the support solution for financial or technical issues to ensure the sustainable cacao supply.
  • Based on the long-term development goal of the company, build up the appropriate purchase and development strategy for cocoa bean supply.
  • Plan the Sourcing team's annual budget and ensure the sourcing expenses have been used effectively.
  • Provide timely support and advice for the team to ensure work efficiency.

Fermentation support:

  • Support fermenters to improve the quality match to Marou's standard.
  • Assess the capacity, and facilities, and calculate the budget for the support of fermentation and drying equipment.
  • Develop fermentation methods to create new flavors for Marou Vision and Developing.
  • Setting, operating and managing new fermentation stations of company (manpower, infrastructure, logistic and costs,).

Building and developing relationships:

  • Maintain and develop the relationship with fermenters/pod-farmers.
  • Cacao teamwork (Sourcing and Technical Advice members).
  • Teamwork in Marou.

2.Develop and implement agricultural development projects and build sustainable relationships with farmers (SEEDLING PROGRAM & TECHNICAL ADVISOR)

  • Build and implement agricultural development projects to deliver the good agricultural practices to the farmers and stakeholders as well as construct and develop a good farmer community and be the bond between Marou and the cacao farmers and stakeholders.
  • Develop technical, seedling and financial support programs to farmers for sustainable development in farms and keep the relationship close. Towards a shared and sustainable cacao community.
  • Facilitate setting up demonstration farms and cooperative farms.
  • Build up and maintain relations with local government and research organizations to coordinate approaches in agriculture development and marketing.

3.Secure

  • Long-term strategy for the cocoa bean.
  • Set up & operate fermentation stations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Crop Science, Economics, Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in agriculture supply chains/ sourcing/ sustainability (cocoa, coffee or agricultural materials)
  • Experience in working with farmers/ fermentors is an advantage
  • Fluent in English is a must (spoken & written)
  • Willing to travel on a regular
  • Experience related to warehouse operations, transportation, distribution, and internal facilities (outsourced transportation costs, fleet costs, etc.)
  • Having legal understanding of land ownership or experience in working with local authorities to develop crop areas and promote cocoa development is an advantage

Working location: 120/4 Street 13, Binh Chieu Ward, Thu Duc City, HCMC.
