Chief Investment Officer (10+YOE, Experience in emerging markets and Asia-Pacific region)

Company: We are an upcoming Private Equity Real Estate firm focused on value-add and opportunistic industrial properties in Vietnam. As a startup, we bring a fresh approach to the market, combining local expertise with a global investment management platform based in Singapore. This enables us to connect international capital with deep, established connections in the Vietnamese market.

- We plan to scale up the investment team to 3 people

- We are a new team with primary strategy focusing on value-add opportunistic industrial real estate. The role is to complement our existing relationships and build new relationships and investment opportunities.

- Open to hybrid mode. CIO will travel a lot

- Overall: 10-15+ years of experience in real estate investment, private equity, or asset management, preferably with a reputable institutional background but who has also worked in more entrepreneurial or growth-stage environments.

Job overview and responsibility:

The Chief Investment Officer (CIO) will play a crucial role in assisting the founding partners in building and scaling the firm. This individual will lead the investment strategy, oversee the deal pipeline, and contribute to the overall growth of the firm's investment platform. The CIO will collaborate closely with the founders to develop the firm's vision and drive its success, from raising capital to managing portfolios.

* Firm Building: Partner with the founders and advisors to develop and implement the firm's vision, infrastructure, and long-term growth strategy.

* Investment Strategy: Define and execute the firm's investment strategy, focusing on value-added and opportunistic real estate investments in Vietnam and the SEA markets.

* Deal Sourcing & Execution: Lead the identification, assessment, and execution of real estate investment opportunities. Manage all stages of the investment process, from due diligence to closing deals.

* Portfolio Management: Oversee the performance of the firm's real estate portfolio, ensuring optimal capital allocation, risk management, and value creation.

* Fundraising & Investor Relations: Collaborate with the founders on fundraising efforts, investor communications, and capital deployment strategies. Serve as a key point of contact for institutional and private investors.

* Market Analysis: Continuously assess market trends, emerging opportunities, and risks in the real estate landscape. Provide strategic insights to guide the firm's investments and operations.

* Team Leadership: Assist in recruiting, mentoring, and leading an investment team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

* Governance & Compliance: Ensure that all investment activities comply with local and international regulations, working closely with legal, financial, and compliance teams.

Required skills and experiences:

* Over 10 years of proven experience in real estate investment within the Asia-Pacific region, ideally focusing on the Vietnam market or investment management

* Extensive knowledge of the Vietnam and SEA real estate markets, supported by an established network of industry contacts

* Strong leadership skills with a history of successfully managing investment teams and portfolios

* Expertise in financial modeling, reporting, risk management, and capital allocation

* Demonstrated ability to source, evaluate, and execute complex real estate transactions

* Advanced degree in finance, real estate, or a related field; CFA or similar certifications are a plus

* Excellent communication skills, with experience in presenting to and managing relationships with institutional investors

* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
