The Role:
As a
Data Product Owner, you will manage the
full lifecycle of data products within your domain. You will ensure that data products meet business needs and comply with
data governance standards while enabling a self-service data culture.
The ideal candidate is both a
strategic and tactical thinker with a deep understanding of
data operations,
product management, and
stakeholder engagement.
This position is part of the
OnC Portfolio, focusing on
Origination and Customers.
Your Responsibilities:
- Own Data Products: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of domain-specific data products, ensuring alignment with business goals
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with business, engineering, and data teams to define product features and requirements
- SLO Management: Define and maintain Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for data freshness, accuracy, and reliability
- Enable Self-Service Analytics: Ensure data products are easily discoverable and usable by data consumers across the organization
- Roadmap & Prioritization: Develop a data product roadmap, balancing short-term business needs with long-term goals
- Automation & Tooling: Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure automated data pipelines and governance frameworks
- Data Quality & Governance: Ensure adherence to data governance, privacy, and compliance standards
- Monitor Performance: Use metrics and feedback to continuously optimize data products
- Evangelize Data: Promote data culture and adoption of data products across the organization
Requirements
Your profile:
To be successful at this role we are looking for experts who possess:
- Experience: 5+ years in data product management or a related role, with domain expertise (e.g., finance, marketing)
- Agile & Scrum: Strong background in Agile and Scrum methodologies, with experience in backlog management and sprint planning
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of data architectures, pipelines, and governance in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Collaboration & Communication: Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to communicate data concepts across technical and non-technical teams
- Data Governance & Compliance: Knowledge of data governance frameworks and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR)
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in data analysis and decision-making using metrics
- Strategic & Tactical Thinking: Capable of both high-level strategy and hands-on product management
