Purpose of the job
The District Manager position will report directly to The Area Operation Manager in the South - based in Nha Trang
This position contributes to Starbucks success by achieving business results while creating and maintaining the Starbucks Experience for our customers and partners. The district manager is
accountable for the operational quality and financial performance of a number of retail locations
and completes management and administrative functions and makes staffing decisions (hiring, scheduling, disciplining, discharging and performance evaluation) for their assigned stores.
Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to:
Leadership Setting the goals for the work group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together
Manages with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Starbucks
Interacts with senior leaders and other key business partners professionally and knowledgably
Plans, identifies, communicates, and delegates appropriate responsibilities and practices to retail partners to ensure smooth flow of operations
Drives the implementation of company programs by developing action plans and directly motivating and instructing the store team to implement them to meet operational and organizational objectives
Displays a customer comes first attitude by training and holding partners accountable for delivering legendary customer service
Demonstrates a calm demeanor during stressful or unusual events and manages smooth transitions thereafter, setting a positive example for retail partners
Planning and Execution Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution and measuring results
Demonstrates ingenuity and creativity in accomplishing goals when resources are limited or unavailable; executes a plan without relying on a defined process
Utilizes existing tools to identify and prioritize communications and regularly uses discretion to filter communications to retail partners; communicates clearly, concisely and accurately in order to ensure effective retail operations
Monitors and manages store staffing levels to ensure partner development and talent acquisition to achieve and maintain store operational requirements
Business Requirements Providing functional expertise and executing functional responsibilities
Uses existing operating tools to plan for and achieve operational excellence in the retail environment
Utilizes management information tools and analyzes financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in store performance.
Solicits customer feedback and proactively researches local markets to understand customer and community needs
Uses discretion in accessing external resources to support store operations and to execute district and regional initiatives; resources include Partner Resources, Marketing, Partner & Asset Protection, Food & Beverage / Product & Marketing, Coffee, and Retail Implementation departments
Ensures adherence to labour laws
Partner Development & Team Building Providing partners with coaching, feedback and developmental opportunities and building effective teams
Conducts performance reviews and manages ongoing partner performance using performance management tools to support organizational objectives
Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to partners in order to achieve partner, business and customer results
Utilizes and demonstrates effective management principles and practices to create and maintain a successful store team resulting in an environment where partners are valued and respected
Challenges and motivates/inspires partners and team members to achieve business results
Oversees training and development of partners and makes effective staffing decisions
Ensures partners and team members adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements
Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational tools and programs as well as by finding new, creative, and effective methods of recognition

Progressive responsible retail or restaurant management experience 4 years
Supervising others - 3 years
Experience in analyzing financial reports to optimize business results 2 years

Ability to manage resources to ensure that established service levels are achieved at all times
