Minit Charger has developed cutting edge off road EV charging ecosystem. We are seeking an EV Charger Design engineer to develop our next generation, DC, fast EV charger.
Responsibilities
- A successful candidate will be highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused, team oriented, and will have an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-visibility strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done.
- You will take end-to-end ownership of our charging solutions to portfolio and deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
- Provide technical diligence on EVCS products, and research and define product requirements and specifications for EVCS (design, performance, safety, local permitting needs, load management strategies etc.)
- Understand the key aspects of EVCS technologies in the areas of design (scalability, robustness, performance), operations (efficiency, usability, reliability), costs (capital and operations), predictive and preventative maintenance, security issues and safety risks, identify gaps and propose areas of improvement.
- Lead partnerships with internal/external EV design teams and EV OEMs to ensure EVCS - EV compatibility and deployment configurations (hardware and software) are established.
- Lead partnership with our vendors to ensure quality components and services are delivered on time and within budget.
Qualifications
- BSEE or MSEE from an accredited university, or a related scientific field.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering in the areas of power systems, electrical design using components typically used in EV chargers, power electronics and control systems.
- Strong experience writing documents on technical requirements for new products, process improvement initiatives and/or design validation plans.
- Experience working with embedded control system such as RTOS, Linux, Android etc.
- Strong knowledge of equipment safety and performance certifications required for operation of electrical systems such as UL2202, 2231.
- Strong knowledge of codes and regulations including UL, IEC, Life Safety, IBC, NFPA,
- Solutions to reduce costs with no impact on quality, reliability, or maintainability.
- Solid analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentation skills
- Experience with developing high-availability EVCS design/architectures, large-scale power systems, electric mobility/transportation, or mission-critical industrial systems, that are at parity (or exceeds) industry design trends.
- The ability to perform complex business case analysis to justify technical decisions and present the justification to management in a high-level review.
- Ability to carry new design concepts through exploration, development, and into production.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment in an organized manner, and willing to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done.
- High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
