RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:
Experienced in engineering of recliner furniture, including frame design, mechanisms, upholstery.
Experienced with manual and electric recliners. Experienced with a wide range of styles and functions is important.
Strong understanding of how motion mechanisms work and the full range of mechanisms available in the market.Strong knowledge in sourcing mechanisms both in Asia, Europe and the USA is a plus.
Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD. Some experience with other software packages is beneficial: Inventor or other 3D modeling software
Has 5+ years experience developing recliners from concept to finished sample.
Positive working attitude;
Passionate about design;
Able to communicate in English is preferred. Vietnamese and Mandarin are a plus.
Duties will include:
Work alongside a team of designers and engineers to detail highly bespoke items.
Translate concept drawings/visuals into shop drawings for manufacture and concept sign-off, principally using AutoCAD andInventor.
Produce drawings to the appropriate level of detail (including specialist materials) for manufacture.
Source materials and components to produce recliners, considering factors such as cost, quality, and availability.
Review samples and provide feedback during the prototype stage to ensure design intent is maintained and incorporate feedback into design iterations.
Ensure deadlines are met and designs are produced efficiently.
Work with the Product Development and Engineering team to produce detailed specifications for procurement, manufacture, and client sign-off.
Conduct research and stay up to date with current trends and developments in the furniture industry, specifically related to recliners;
