LONG AN INTERNATIONAL PORT Position Description

Are you a passionate HR professional active in the dynamic port, container, logistics industry ready to take the next step/challenge in your career Then come help us build a professional port-wide HR function that will help make the Port of Long An an internationally recognized port of choice ensuring the continued, safe and very rapid expansion of the company with emphasis on evolving the Port's organization and culture to world-class standards as it builds its brand new 500,000 TEU capacity container handling business.

Port HR Manager (Business Partner)

Reporting to the CEO of LAIP and functionally to Dongtam Group HR, this is a leadership position, part of the Port's management team, responsible for coordinating the entire scope of HR processes, procedures, and systems of the Port for all its employees, contractors, customers, and visitors etc.and the main contact with Dongtam Group HR function regarding shared services and resources.Major task will be the further professionalization of the HR function for the Port while supporting steep growth bringing port HR practices, policies, and procedures up to world-class standard and embedding a safe working culture for all stakeholders of the Port.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Management or related field with relevant professional diplomas/certifications

Certification in Industrial Relations and Labor Laws of Vietnam

Minimum ten (10) years of HR generalist experience at Management level, of which at least 5 years in a similar position with demonstrated growth and added value

Must possess advanced knowledge of industrial practices, regulatory agency requirements and standards with a strong Ports and Logistics background

Knowledge of container logistics industry, industry unions and government relations

Must have very good written and oral communication skills. Required to speak effectively before groups of Senior Management, customers contractors, and/or employees of the organization

Professional Vietnamese language skills and high level of English required

  • Broad, HR experience and proven track record in managing own staff as well as other functions/department's staff indirectly in HR area
  • Self-starter, proven project management skills, team player

Ability to work with senior stakeholders across all functions of the company and to represent LAIP professionally to its employees, customers, the government, and local/regional community.

Excellent computer skills required.

Use of basic reasoning, thinking on your feet, and ability to resolve issues quickly. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format.

The ability to coach managers and senior leaders to build their capacity, capability, and confidence in dealing with people management and other HR related matters.

Ability to identify business requirements and successfully apply these to people management practices.

Advocates for internal customer satisfaction as a key value for themselves and their team.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and close capability and competency gaps, culture enhancement, workforce planning, etc. in close partnership with LAIP Management and Dongtam Group HR
  • Ensure a steady follow up and fast-track the expansion recruitment plan, coordinating all project recruitments with Dongtam Group HR and LAIP recruiting managers
  • Manage the HR staffing plan including the HR administrative and Capex costs, budgeting process, to ensure that line managers are able to critically assess their current & future manpower needs & provide proper justifications for recruitment of new positions
  • Continuously coordinate with Group HR and LAIP Management, to standardize company HR initiatives and processes

Ensure the effective and timely implementation of the appraisal process, including mid and end of year reviews

  • Facilitate trainings on diverse HR & vocational skills and topics develop and deliver training for managers and employees where needed, engage subject matter experts as required to build capacity to deliver on company's strategic objectives and employee wellbeing
  • Expected to constantly raise the bar in existing people management practices and policies while always complying with local labor law and Dongtam Group policies
  • Participate/attend industry related conferences when requested to do so
