Title: Industrial Designer

Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (USA-based Company)

Job Description:

Our USA-based Innovative Health Tech Startup is seeking a part time Industrial Designer to join our dynamic team located in Ho Chi Minh City. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with our international teams in the USA, Vietnam, and Taiwan on the AI-powered smart insoles project. Working alongside world-leading AI scientists, biomedical engineers, top research universities, and doctors, you will be a key player in advancing health technology. We are looking for a skilled professional with at least three years of experience in industrial design with a focus on wearable devices who is passionate about making a difference in the healthcare industry. Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication within our global team. Some travel may be required to facilitate collaboration and project development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize and develop innovative designs for smart insoles, focusing on aesthetics, ergonomics, and functionality.
• Create detailed 3D models and prototypes using Fusion 360 and other design tools.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and other stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and functionality.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and improvements.
• Develop and maintain design documentation, including sketches, renderings, and technical specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and manufacturing capabilities.
• Stay updated on emerging trends, materials, and technologies in industrial design and wearable technology.
• Iterate designs based on feedback from internal teams and end users.
• Work closely with the engineering and product management teams to align design objectives with technical and market requirements.
• Work closely with the marketing team to create compelling product presentations and visualizations.
• Support the production process by working with manufacturers to ensure design integrity and quality.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in industrial design, preferably in wearables or consumer electronics.
• Proficiency in Fusion 360 or Solidworks
• Strong portfolio showcasing innovative design solutions and a keen eye for detail.
• Experience with rapid prototyping techniques and tools.
• Understanding of human factors and ergonomics in product design.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience designing products for the healthcare or fitness industry.
• Knowledge of biomechanics or expertise in developing products for human movement analysis.
• Familiarity with materials and manufacturing processes for wearable devices.
• Understanding of electronics integration and sensor technology.
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices and materials.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications in product design.
