We are looking to hire a
Junior Engineer to join our team of experts in a dynamic and growing company that is driving the energy transition.
What you will be doing.
As our
Junior Engineer, you will work as part of a team and perform duties including but not limited to design, review, calculations and analysis for various Engineering elements of Offshore/Maritime structures.
The Junior Engineer will work on offshore Renewables and Oil & Gas projects for ABL Group's portfolio of clients. Working as a core member of our engineering team in Vietnam, you will work on Marine Warranty Surveys (MWS), and review and approve analyses of transportation, heavy lifting and installation activities. You will be providing project management support and maritime technical expertise for the design, construction, and installation phases of energy projects. This could include offshore floating wind farms or Oil & Gas platforms.
- Partner with our clients, Project Directors, and Department Managers to ensure that our client projects run smoothly.
- Carry out calculations or analyses of transportation, heavy lifting and installation activity.
- Review and comment on technical documents, calculations, and technical procedures prepared by the contractors. You will also participate in technical meetings of design review, risk assessment, etc. on projects.
- Manage project workload in accordance with customer objectives and pre-agreed service level agreements and timeframes. Ensure customer satisfaction through customer feedback on performance.
- Be the technical reference point of the project during the execution phase and provide support to on-site inspectors.
- Travel to site to undertake marine warranty surveys and inspections. You will also validate timesheets for inspectors on site.
- Prepare monthly project monitoring reports which will be shared with clients and your colleagues within ABL Group.
- Partner with the Head of Department and other stakeholders to promote ABL Group. This could involve participation in business development activities such as client meetings to develop proposals.
- Work on the production of tenders for new business and collaborate with ABL Group stakeholders to help develop our future business strategy.
- Identify and brief inspectors who will be deployed on offshore or on-site operations. Work collaboratively with colleagues and support other technical departments when needed.
- Ensure that ABL Group's HSEQ rules and procedures are followed at all times.
- Ensure the timely invoicing of projects.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to other ABL Group employees.
This role is primarily office based in
Vung Tau, Vietnam, and the candidate should have the right to live and work in
Vietnam. Flexibility to working hours may be required.

- Degree qualification in Naval Architecture/Structural Engineering or equivalent
- 5 years of professional experience and relevant expertise with offshore fixed and mobile structures
- Sound knowledge of industry standards and codes and the ability to apply standards to structural analysis & designs Full understanding of classification societies and their design requirements
- Spatial awareness with the ability to demonstrate skilled knowledge in analyzing technical solutions
- Working knowledge of engineering principles and practices Working knowledge of basic principles of design, systems design and installation, mathematics
- Ability to select and apply standard guides, methods, and techniques
- Computer literate with practical experience in Structural Analysis of marine and/or offshore structures
- Good interpersonal skills, a strong team player with a proactive approach
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail a high level of numerical accuracy, and the ability to prioritize work
- Well organized and self-directed, proactive and insightful
