We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Manager to join our team in Vietnam as an in-house counsel. In this role, you will be responsible for consulting, handling legal processes, providing guidance on various legal matters, researching and safeguarding against legal risks, and ensuring compliance with legal rights and duties.
Your Responsibilities
Serve as the primary attorney responsible for managing legal matters for the company's Vietnamese operations, reporting to the global Chief Legal Officer.
Provide legal advice and guidance on a variety of legal issues, including corporate governance, labor, commercial contracts, compliance, and regulatory issues.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, such as reports, contracts, agreements, and policies.
Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations impacting the company's operations.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal risks and manage compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Work closely with external counsel and help manage relationships with outside legal advisors.
Assist in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures.
Provide legal support in resolving disputes, including through negotiation and litigation, if necessary.
Conduct internal legal training sessions to enhance legal awareness and compliance within the organization.
Experience & Skills Required
Bachelor's degree in Law or higher. Have a lawyer practicing certificate.
At least 7 years of experience as an attorney in relevant practice areas, preferably in both a law firm and in-house legal department.
Strong knowledge of corporate law, commercial law, labor law, contracts, and legal principles. Experience in developing and reviewing US commercial contracts is strongly preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Vietnamese, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to both legal and non-legal stakeholders.
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities.
Business-minded, with an ability to anticipate issues, evaluate risks, and weigh costs and benefits to the company to help drive the business forward while managing legal risk.
Proactive approach and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Maintain integrity and accountability.
Ability to work from our Da Nang, Vietnam office with potential travel to other business locations. We are open to discussing relocation support options.
