Job Description

WaterSprint is a research-based consulting network of water experts aiming to work without boundaries and provide fast-track delivery of their services and products to their partners and clients worldwide to achieve joint mandate of safeguarding the finite [natural] resources of the world.We do research and develop solutions on challenging topics faced by the society and publish our results for the greater benefits of humans and society. We aim to provide new insights to the Public and International development sectors to spend their resources in a smart and meaningful way.WaterSprint focus is on: water-related services to secure the water and natural resources of the world and to safeguard the society from the natural disasters and drought, trainings and human capacity development, institutional building, research and development, etc.We aim to bring the best international knowledge and practices on water and agricultural management into the developing countries to help them for their resilient economic growth as well as to create new jobs.

The Role

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Determining how changes in the environment will affect the economy or public health
  • Conducting research to identify causes of environmental degradation, including overpopulation and unsustainable resource use
  • Preparing reports and recommendations regarding environmental issues, such as climate change or deforestation
  • Evaluating alternatives for managing natural resources, such as water, soil, plants, or animals
  • Recommending policies to improve recycling rates or reduce waste production
  • Creating models to predict the potential impacts of legislation on the economy
  • Reviewing projects to assess their potential environmental impact before construction begins
  • Conducting surveys to determine public perception of environmental issues
  • Determining how much companies should pay for pollution permits or how much pollution they are allowed to emit

Ideal Profile

  • Ideal candidate (from each mentioned country), is who has experience in following countries Maldives, Thailand, The Philippines, Vietnam and Tonga.
  • Education: Master's degree in economics, data science, physics or closely related subject.
  • Experience: - At least 5 years professional work experience in economic analysis, public finance, cost-benefit analysis, and/or economic modelling;
  • Experience working with the government and international development partners on development and application of economic models or/and around costing and fiscal analysis of climate change issues.
  • Competencies: - Familiarity with government planning systems and institutional roles;
  • Understanding of economics of climate change or natural disasters;
  • Prior experience of engaging with governments;
  • Ability to research, and capture, develop, organize, share and effectively use information and knowledge to provide recommendation and guidance to management;
  • Experience working in a multicultural context with strong communication skills.
  • Language Requirement:
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required to effectively liaise with the stakeholders of the region.
