Job Summary
The Logistics Operations Manager is responsible for leading and mentoring the logistics team to ensure efficient cargo handling, operations, and customer satisfaction across Vietnam. This role involves profit and loss responsibility, strategy development, and driving operational improvements in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Management: Mentor and manage logistics staff, ensuring a skilled and competent team capable of executing OOG air and sea freight charters according to customer requirements.
- Operational Oversight: Review contracts, delegate tasks to the team, and oversee cargo handling operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Customer & Vendor Relations: Build and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, shipping and airfreight carriers, customs officials, and other stakeholders in Vietnam.
- Pre-Operations Coordination: Lead meetings with customers, vendors, and authorities to discuss key freight arrangements, ensuring all parties are aligned.
- Customer Service & Training: Cultivate a customer-service-oriented culture and provide training to enhance the team's account management skills.
- Documentation & Compliance: Standardize internal procedures, maintain ISO compliance, and ensure a compliant vendor list with regular performance reviews.
- Cost Optimization: Drive cost-saving initiatives through operational efficiencies and freight procurement negotiations.
- Reporting: Provide weekly freight activity reports to senior management and communicate key updates on operations and performance.
Minimum Qualifications
Education / Training:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in freight forwarding, with expertise in vessel and air chartering for out-of-gauge (OOG) cargo.
- Proven leadership experience managing a team of 10+ staff members.
