ROLE PURPOSE
- Ownership of the Data Protection platforms
- Design, develop and maintain those platforms aligned to deliver the required control outcomes.
- Ensure platforms are compliant with various standards and controls.
- Lead a team to manage these responsibilities.
- Drive the alignment of data security and relevant data protection both within NAB and between NAB and BNZ.
Day-to-day work involves:
- Review and triage/action incidents
- Review and triage/action vulnerabilities
- Review and address platform issues
- Review and respond to emails in my and team mailboxes.
- Manage GRACE Controls, Findings, Treatment Plans & processes.
- Manage team leave, timesheets, SAP.
- Manage team MyID roles & service accounts.
- Assess and approve changes raised by team.
- Review changes from other teams for impact and action as required.
- Review, allocate and brief new jobs.
- Attend meetings with vendors, stakeholders, etc.
- Providing technological and organisational support to team
- Providing advice to other teams as required
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Generic:
- Lead and ensure delivery of the strategic outcomes.
- Align and deliver activities to achieve goals and KPIs for the function.
- Support meeting departmental budgets
- Manage a direct team.
- Ensure respective policy, standards, processes, and controls meet regulator and compliance expectations.
- Manage controls and timely completion of findings and treatment plans.
Role specific:
- Meet SLAs to availability, currency, vulnerabilities, etc.
- Lead and drive the platform capabilities to achieve DLP outcomes.
- Manage and prioritise initiatives, projects, requests, incidents, etc.
- Provide SME advice and consultation to NAB & BNZ.
- Lead resolution of any related Risks, Problems, or Incidents.
- Provide regular reporting on activities, achievements, or issues.
- Other activities as required by management.
- Availability after-hours to provide team support if needed
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience
- 10+ years in technical security role
- 3+ years in a technical data protection role
- 3+ years of technical, project or team leadership
Essential capabilities
- High level of technical competence at design, engineering, and operation of security platforms.
- High level of technical competence at design, engineering, and operation of data protection platforms.
- Delivery / execution
- People leadership
- Stakeholder management
- Communication & Documentation
- Risk management and compliance
- Skills: MS Purview, Splunk, JIRA, zScaler, MDCA (CASB)

Qualification Requirements
Common next career moves Manager of other Security teams (eg. Manager Network Security, Manager Workplace and Mobility), and eventually HO Cyber Platforms and Engineering.
