Manager, Sourcing (Furniture & Mattress)

Organization Unit Purpose:

This department drives strategic sourcing and operational efficiency across product categories, ensuring timely order execution and contributing to global sourcing strategies.

Position Purpose:

The Sourcing Manager drives sourcing activities, conducts detailed cost component analysis, and manages supplier relationships to ensure product quality, delivery, and competitive pricing. This role focuses on optimizing sourcing strategies to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management:

Source products and identify potential suppliers, adhering to established supplier matrices.

Conduct supplier assessments to evaluate capacity and capability, ensuring alignment with retail market requirements.

Onboard suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and requirements.

Manage supplier performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Cost & Negotiation:

Conduct detailed cost component analysis to inform negotiation strategies.

Negotiate product pricing and terms with suppliers.

• Order Execution & Compliance:

Manage order execution, resolving product and production issues proactively.

Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with Merchandise Quality Engineers and Responsible Sourcing teams to ensure appropriate factory placements.

• Project & Communication:

Lead sourcing projects from initiation to completion.

Plan and execute buying trips, ensuring trip objectives are achieved.

Communicate regularly with customer-facing teams, buyers, product development, and direct import departments.

Coordinate with Supply Solutions team in daily operations.

Coordinate and execute cross-functional projects.

Prepare and deliver monthly reports on program status.

• Problem Resolution:

Resolve issues related to product specifications, purchase orders, safety failures, and supplier execution.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience:

Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing or a retail brand.

Mandatory: Proven experience working for US Retail, a major brand, or an importer/agent serving major U.S. retail customers.

• Industry Expertise:

Knowledge of suppliers, factories, and product commodities.

Ability to evaluate supplier competence and capability.

Basic production and manufacturing knowledge.
