The Tra Vinh Community Development Project
SNV Vietnam is currently implementing a long-term Community Development Project (CDP) assigned by a near-shore wind power project developer the Tra Vinh Wind Power No. 1 Joint Stock Company (TWPC) and Climate Fund Managers (CFM). The objective of the CDP is to deliver net positive environmental and social impacts in the areas and communities where TPWC is operational and therefore an associated CDP is required. The project areas are in Truong Long Hoa and Long Toan communes of Duyen Hai town and Ngu Lac commune of Duyen Hai district, Tra Vinh province.
The CDP focuses on improving local livelihoods by investing in market-based approaches and the development of inclusive value-chains for sustainable aquaculture and horticulture, as the main livelihood opportunities in the area. Interventions will have a strong emphasis on promoting climate resilient approaches and on women's economic empowerment in the respective value-chains in the target areas. SNV Vietnam is now looking for a dynamic and highly motivated
Project Assistant, who will be based in Ho Chi Minh city, to provide data management and analysis, and administrative and logistical support to the CDP project.
Job Description
Under the management of the SNV's Project Manager (PM), the incumbent will support the project manager and the project team on administrative and logistical tasks to ensure the project operate smoothly and effectively. The Assistant will also use their excel and data management support the project team in data entry and management, and supporting in creating simple monitoring dashboards. As a team member of the Agri-food sector, he/she is expected to contribute to the wider development of the sector as well as SNV's portfolio in the Mekong of Vietnam and can act as a resource person when required. Specific tasks include:
- Responsible for project admin tasks such as organising meetings, drafting official letters to request for approvals.
- Responsible for the project procurement activities of goods and services
- Preparation of detailed cost-estimates and budgets for project activities
- Support team in making travel and logistics arrangements for project events, missions, visitors, workshops/meetings etc.
- Provide English-Vietnamese translation of reports, documents
- Provide project with M&E support assigned by the project manager. Tasks include consolidate data (hard and soft copies), report and information, regular monitoring to track progress, on results, targets, performance and changes in the lifetime of the projects; supporting PM to enter and update data in SNV's shared drives.
- Other tasks assigned by the Project Manager or Sector Leader.
Qualifications
Education And Experience
- University degree in economics, business management, development studies, agriculture or other relevant fields
- At least 2 years of relevant working experience in agriculture and rural development and/or international organisation(s)
- Understanding and experience of development projects, project management, M&E is preferable
Skills
- Very good speaking and writing skills in both English and Vietnamese
- Good administrative and logistical skills
- Proficiency in using common office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Email).
- Good communication skills to interact and collaborate with local authorities and stakeholders.
