QA software tester

1. Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced QA engineer / tester to join our quality assurance team. You will be required to conduct all aspects of software and product testing within our various regions and products. This may include developing test strategies, drawing up test documents / plans, testing reports, identifying faults, and reviewing QA reports.

The Test Analyst actively uses the software by Testing, using every feature of the system and the tools, ensuring functionality exists as per acceptance criteria (requirements) as well as verifying performance and reliability. Bugs, defects, issues or risks found are to be logged and tracked in JIRA (issue tracking software). It is the responsibility of the Test Analyst to inform the Team Lead / Head of department ahead of issues found during testing, they will then vet and schedule into a release cycle.

2. Requirements/skills

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and skills:

• 5+ years experience as a Tester / QA for a SAAS based business;
• Experience testing in similar industries such as gambling, betting, banking or finance will be preferential;
• The candidate should have experience in industries with large volume of deposits / withdrawals / purchases;
• Strong spoken and written English;
• Experience communicating comfortable and confidently with the development team;
• Experience with a test case management tool like TestRails;
• Experience in testing various applications, mobile apps, services, and user interfaces;
• Experience with cross-browser testing;
• Experience testing API's using a tool like Postman;
• Experience documenting steps to reproduce the bugs, with screenshots and screen recording;
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and best practices;
• Experience working in an agile environment with tools like JIRA, Confluence and ceremonies like planning, retros, stand-ups etc;
• Strong knowledge of software quality assurance best practices & methodologies;
• Must be fully setup for remote work;

3. Key responsibilities

• Work closely with the developers to create and document acceptance test criteria for new product features.
• Test and document issues with our website and mobile application releases.
• Develop, maintain and improve our test case suite.
• Perform all aspects of test verification, including functional, regression and performance testing.
• Providing and keeping to estimated test time frames.
• Design Test Cases.
• Ensure the test environment is set up and maintained for testing within your team.
• Keep track of the new requirements and update test plans accordingly.
• Track issue reports using Jira system.
• Participate in all scrum processes and make meaningful contributions during standups and retros.
• Produce test completion reports.
• Communicate timeously with developers / team leads on any impediments found.
