Your Essential Duties and Responsiblities
Leadership and Supervision
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the laboratory, including work assignments, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Provide guidance to staff in the different business areas to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and management policies in establishing, updating, and adhering to management system policies, processes, and procedures
- Ensure a strong intercorrelation and alignment between all laboratories and other business areas across different hubs to maintain consistent quality practices and standards throughout the organization
- Act as the final decision-maker regarding the conformity or non-conformity of materials based on the analysis of testing data.
Quality Control and Inspection:
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, ensuring the implementation, documentation, and maintenance of good laboratory practices
- Work collaboratively in reviewing and updating processes to establish and maintain an integrated management system (Quality, Environment, Health, Safety)
- Oversee internal audit processes, document control systems, competency assessment, training, and other management system processes in coordination with global quality management team
- Analyze data, identify trends, and monitor the prevention and correction of management system deviations and findings
- Identify and report management system issues and problems to management, along with recommendations for resolution
- Ensure availability and proper operation of all test equipment
- Maintain the calibration schedule of laboratory equipment
- Manage the supervision of outsourced testing
- Facilitate the evaluation of new applications and test instruments, assisting in the commissioning of analytical instrumentation.
Training and Development:
- Train the team in testing methodologies, quality standards, and relevant operating procedures
- Continuously develop the skills and knowledge of the team and the relevant interested parties through ongoing training programs and professional development initiatives
- Process Improvement, Documentation and Compliance
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, implementing best practices, and efficiency enhancements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of testing results, quality reports, and documentation related to quality control activities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality management systems, and company policies and procedures.
Qualifications and experience
Educational requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemical or textile engineering, or a related field is preferred
- Relevant certifications in quality control or quality management are advantageous.
Work Experience Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of experience in following fields:
o Management Systems: Knowledge and experience in implementing and maintaining quality management systems, such as ISO 9001, ISO 17025 (for testing laboratories), ISO 14001 or other relevant standards
o Laboratory Management: Strong background in managing laboratory operations, including overseeing testing procedures, equipment calibration, sample handling, and data management
o Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to the laboratory's industry, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations
o Quality Control and Inspection: Expertise in quality control methodologies, inspection procedures, and data analysis to ensure product and process quality.
- Effective leading medium size team
- Provide mentorship, maintain high team morale, and ensure accountability while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Physical, Language, and/or Travel Requirements:
- Communication and collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are crucial for effectively working with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
- Capable of multitasking, adaptable to change, able to work under pressure
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently and autonomously
- Analytical and problem-solving skills: Proficiency in data analysis, root cause analysis, and problem - solving methodologies, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint. Power BI is desirable
- Advanced level English
- Active physicalengagement in laboratory operations, occasionally involving travel to other hubs.
