Your main task is to develop business opportunities for ifm products with both prospective and existing customers in your designated sales area. Your local management will assign you your territory and accounts, along with your market development budget, for which you will have full responsibility. As part of your duty of care towards ifm customers, it is your responsibility to follow up with new contacts and potential accounts on a regular basis through various modes of communication and platforms to maintain client relationships.
Your local management should be regularly informed with updates on your pipeline and any issues related to converting leads into orders should be highlighted immediately.

I. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engage with customers and potential customers to understand their business, the products they manufacture, and their improvement initiatives.
- Implement a sales process that clearly defines the customer's challenges and their concept for a solution. Be skilled at determining the decision-making process and identifying key stakeholders involved in a sale.
- Leverage technical product and application knowledge to provide high-quality solutions to automation challenges.
- Effectively communicate with customers using digital media such as web conferences, LinkedIn, and phone calls.
- Conduct in-person meetings for large projects to evaluate machines, solve applications, or present ifm solutions.
- Direct ownership of 100+ accounts with high potential for ifm. All allocated customers must be visited within the calendar year (standard 600 visits/year).
- Proactively pursue new opportunities, keeping in mind upselling and cross-selling larger integrated solutions to customers as needed. Stay aware of current and future plans on the customer side (upgrades, expansion, new facilities, global initiatives).
- Plan customer visits carefully, prioritizing appointments based on the highest ifm potential across your entire allocated customer base.
- Ensure that any inquiries from customers are followed up on the same day, whether technical or commercial in nature. All visits and customer-related interactions should be documented in the CRM within the current week. Visit/Phone reports are compulsory.
- You will have quarterly one-on-one meetings with your local management, during which you will review your past quarter's activities, current performance, and next quarter's planned activities. You are responsible for providing your local management with a full update based on your Sales Planner input.
- Develop and maintain a sales funnel with enough opportunities at all stages to exceed the annual sales growth target.
- Continuously learn about automation industry trends and ifm solutions that are relevant to those trends.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
II. REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, etc.).
- 1-5 years of related technical sales experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude; industrial automation experience is preferred.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and the use of industrial automation to fully identify and address customer needs.
- Experience with the application of sensors, sensing technology, and software in industrial automation. Knowledge of IO Link will be an advantage.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and sales skills to provide customers with the value-added support that makes ifm unique in the sensor business.
- Attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-disciplined with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to work collaboratively as a business partner.
- Ability to work independently as well as with various teams.
- Proactive and autonomous.
- Language: English.
- Possession of a valid car driving license is a plus
