Expana is seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Senior Agronomist to join our team in Vietnam. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in agriculture who are eager to make an impact through meticulous research and data-driven strategies. You will collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders and be at the forefront of our agricultural research efforts in the coffee sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementation of research methodology for crop estimation by conducting 7 crop surveys at predetermined intervals in Vietnam as per existing methodologies (training will be provided)
- Collection of weather data (rainfall and temperature) and closely monitoring the same against long term forecasts to understand crop impacts.
- Conduct monthly farmer stock surveys
- Collection and analysis of secondary data (i.e. export data, physical stock, rainfall & temperature, acreage, domestic & FOB prices and freight rates)
- Using all the data collected to build balance sheets
- Building and updating existing cost of production models
- Building harvesting progress and farmer selling profiles in season
- Providing weekly market updates
