JOB OVERVIEW:
The Sourcing Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting the Senior Sourcing Operations Specialist to achieve the team goals. Additionally, responsible for achieving key operational objectives involving the strategic supply base for development, new product introduction (SMS, SMU's, Tour Pro products, initial launch through to delivery) and continuous improvement of all operations within the Callaway, OGIO and Jack Wolfskin Brands.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with manufacturing partners.
- Collaborate with the Senior Sourcing Operations Specialist and the HQ to help ensure timely PO placement that aligns with the locked capacity which is essential for on time product launches.
- Facilitate the supplier onboarding process for new suppliers.
- Frequently monitor all key ship dates and communicate with both the manufacturing partner, the Senior Sourcing Operations Specialist and the HQ team about challenges (material shortages, material delays, material quality, RSL issues, and finished good shortages due to quality issues) and action steps to ensure the manufacturing partner is working towards a favorable solution.
- Monitor multiple reports such as OOR, output, capacity & container booking schedules, from manufacturing partners to confirm that manufacturing milestones and ship dates are being met.
- Conduct regular meetings with manufacturing partners to ensure all aspects of WIP and other reporting and planning initiatives are being met.
- Collaborate with Senior Sourcing Operations Specialist and development team on a process that will ensure the FOB's are accurate and provided in a timely manner so that each product is accurately detailed in the system.
- Manage all MOQ's and resulting surcharges as well as the liability of left over materials and components and communicate the confirmed debit note to each regional office for payment. (This task is only for Jack Wolfskin)
- Manage material greige booking/forecast with suppliers to ensure greige timelines and availability will result in the shortest lead-time. (This task is only for Jack Wolfskin)
- Organize and execute regular supplier site evaluations and audits.
- Participate in regular visits to manufacturing partners with the Senior Sourcing Operations Specialist, engineers and Quality teammates to understand key manufacturing processes.
- Gain the support and direction of HQ product team to occasionally create SMU's that help to use up over stocked materials and components.
- Support the important Centric system by entering the required information (price, Lead-time, packing measurement/instructions and supporting development team with BOM compilation) into the system.
- Ensure internal alignment and a complete understanding of the Purchase Order process
- Send reminders to the regional team for price updates, special packing instructions, and timely issuance of Purchase Orders.
- Support the region in preparing orders, ensuring compliance with delivery schedules, quantity/MOQ, and packing requirements.
- Monitor Purchase Order information and UPC data for Tier 1 Partners.
- Follow up on Purchase Order confirmations from Tier 1 Partners and provide suggestions for combining shipments to reduce transportation costs.
- Handle and manage shipments with Tier 1 partners, forwarders, and the regional team.
- Track and verify Work in Progress (WIP) from Tier 1 Partners and share updates with the region.
- Provide suggestions and alternative options to minimize delays affecting Estimated Time of Departure (ETD).
- Check FSN and documents for both China (CN) and the United States (US).
COMPETENCIES & WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years of sourcing operations management experience.
- Solid experience in sourcing of soft goods as well as production process, construction, lead times, material management, capacity, output and open order reports.
- Experience with knowledge of Global RSL and social compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational, analytical and negotiating skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Centric, OSCA, Info Nexus & SAP.
- Awareness of decisions that have financial implications.
- Ability to travel locally and internationally in support of business related to partnership factories multiple times per year.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's or college degree
- 3-5 years of manufacturing or sourcing operations experience
- Diploma from Trade or Textile school
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Daily work from 9:00am to 5:00pm within an office environment. (Monday through Friday)
- Additional hours are necessary from time to time that are outside of the normal workday.
- Travel within country or internationally for various lengths of time.
- Extensive time on feet while visiting and working with factories/suppliers.
- Extensive use of office equipment to include computer, phone, calculator, copier, scanner and other business-related machines and software.
