JOB SUMMARY
The role involves leading a long term strategic planning, developing new product strategy and driving key growth initiatives for our company in Vietnam in close collaboration with Managing Director, Commercial Operations Director, Business Unit Heads and Regional counterparts, ensuring assessment of commercial opportunities, optimal resource allocation and risk management. It includes creating business analytics, developing a commercial strategy for new products, understanding disease burden and market dynamics, and preparing for successful product launches. Additionally, the role requires supporting the Managing Director with engagement preparation, coordinating leadership meetings, overseeing strategic projects, and aligning priorities and scorecards with the country leadership team.
What You Will Do
Strategic Planning
- Lead the annual strategic planning process for Vietnam working with the Managing Director, Commercial Operations Director and Business Unit Directors to create a single robust, comprehensive and ambitious plan for achieving the strategic goals of our company
- Establish a robust mechanism for assessing performance against the strategic plan, managing risks and working with the Strategic Planning and Commercial Operations Director to ensure optimal resource allocation to ensure the execution of the plan.
- Work with the Business Unit leads throughout the year particularly during the planning and forecasting process ensuring all plans are informed by robust trend analysis, customer understanding and market dynamics.
- Create business analytics (market / TA/Brand insight &Performance matrix) in a timely manner to each function to enable strategic planning and decisions, enabling right selection & targeting of customers, actionable territory sales force alignment etc.
New Products
- Develop Comprehensive Commercial Strategy and line of sight for pipeline assets
- Understand disease burden and unmet needs, market and competition, policy, and access environment
- Conduct and lead forecast scenarios and conduct New Product commercial assessments, develop country prioritization list in collaboration with the BUDs and Regional Lead
- Plan and execute tactics aligned with New Products Regional/Global Strategy
- Accelerate & prepare for successful launches in alignment with the Global Strategy, in synergy with Regional Functions, and under the guidance of Regional Leadership
Strategic Support for Managing Director (MD) and Country Leadership Team Governance
- Ensure the Managing Director (MD) is adequately prepared for all internal and external engagements working with the relevant subject matter experts within the organization
- Coordinate Country Leadership Meetings Ensure optimization of meetings and alignment of topics to key priorities. Ensure Leadership Team sponsored presentations are aligned with strategic direction of the meetings. Prepare high level agreements, record action items and issue in a timely manner to the Leadership Team
- Project Management Proactively identify and execute projects of strategic importance to our company, oversee management & coordination of key initiatives/efforts which are often cross functional Business Reviews Coordinate and participate in Business Reviews with the Leadership Team
- Profit Planning / Scorecards Aligning LTs and finance in the country profit planning process and ensuring the Cluster Scorecard/dashboard are updated
What You Must Have
To be successful in this role, you will have
Preferred Experience
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to generate high level business recommendation based on gathered market insights.
- Strong Business acumen, strong analytic skills and ability to transfer insights into commercial portfolio strategies
- Proven experience in defining and delivering long term / short term strategy projects.
- Strong influencing skills and experience of working in complex stakeholder environments, ideally including with regional and global teams
- Prior experience as an Engagement Manager (or other equivalent roles) with leading strategy consulting firms is a bonus, but not mandatory
- Excellent in English writing, speaking, reading and listening Strong communication skills
