From climate change and deforestation to human rights, poverty, and unsustainable farm practices, the coffee supply chain faces major challenges. With the growing demand for responsibly sourced coffee across the industry, we as Sucafina's Global Sustainability Team want to help roasters of all sizes achieve their sustainability goals.

This role will be within the Sustainability department's newly formed Sustainability Data Team, located in multiple locations around the globe. The team is expanding in size to lay the foundations of the most modern, streamlined and data-driven sustainability experience the sector offers.

Role Definition

As a Reporting Data Analyst within the Sustainability department, you will play a crucial role in advancing our sustainability initiatives through insightful data analysis and reporting. You will be responsible for leveraging programming, ETL and dashboarding tools to extract, analyze and visualize data both for internal and external stakeholders, providing valuable insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Data analysis and visualization:

Utilize SQL, Python, Power BI, and other analytical tools to analyze large datasets on sustainability and coffee supply chain.

• Reports and insights generation:

Conduct reporting works on sustainability (e.g., carbon emissions, living income assessment), sales (e.g., responsibly sourced coffee sales) and project management both for internal and external stakeholders, instructing them for actionable insights.

• Data management and quality assurance:

Ensure ata accuracy, consistency, and integrity by implementing robust data management processes and conducting regular quality assurance checks.

Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify data sources, establish data governance standards, and streamline data collection processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in the relevant business domain (e.g., agronomy, environmental science) or in Statistics/Data science with willingness to learn about the business domain.
• English proficiency
• Proven experience in data querying, analysis, and reporting, preferably related to sustainability or agronomy.
• Experience in data analysis, reporting, and visualization, with proficiency in Power BI or other BI tools
• Proficiency in data querying and manipulation through SQL, Python, MS Excel or other
• Experience with Python and relevant data analytics packages (e.g., pandas, matplotlib and numpy)
• Strong understanding of statistical methods and techniques for analyzing data distributions, correlations, trends, and patterns.
• Passion for sustainability and a desire to make a positive impact through data-driven decision-making.
