Purpose: To manage the back-office operations and support activities of coal trading.
Broad Responsibilities:
- Contract administration and execution,
- Payment coordination,
- Stock verification of cargo,
- Attending and resolving customers queries.
Key Challenges:
- Coordinating operations across various agencies in a timely and smooth manner.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Operations & Support
- Prepare cost sheet for attempting business (in coordination with shipping department).
- Contract creation on business confirmation and arranging signed copies.
- Vessel acceptance from the port, buyer, seller.
- Vessel status updates to buyer and seller.
- Follow up for payment for cargo value.
- Checking payment and issuance of the delivery order.
- Reconciliation of monthly working and working capital, etc.
- Regular updating of data (price, volumes, refinery wise, buyer wise, etc.).
- Preparation of PPTs and management reports, etc.
Stakeholder Management
- Customer query such as DO, invoice, loading issue, quality issues etc.
- If a customer has opened the LC needs to be check LC negotiation status and acceptance status and usance interest status if claim separately.
- Laytime calculations with the customer/stevedores.
Compliance of SOP, Statutes, Risk Management and Systems & Processes
- Payment follow-up.
- Cargo lifting status reporting issues if stock is unsold for more than 90 days, if stock lifting is not happening for more than 180 days.
- Sold and unsold position updates to traders.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of the commodity trading industry trends across the globe will be an added advantage.
- Good analytical skills and ability to interpret market intelligence data for effective decision making.
- Ability to liaise effectively with external agencies.
- Good networking skills.
- Knowledge of ERP software applications. Preferably SAP.
- Strong commercial sense.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong grasping power.
- Team spirit.
- MBA in Marketing/ Finance/Trading or CA.
- Min 2 years of industry exposure.
