We are seeking an experienced Translation Manager to oversee and coordinate the localization of our diverse content into multiple languages, ensuring a seamless, multilingual experience for our global audience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent project management skills, a keen eye for linguistic detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external translators to meet our company's localization needs
Responsibilities:
- Oversee translations for a variety of content, including station and province names, website interface elements, and articles. Ensure all translations meet high standards of linguistic quality, accuracy, and consistency across all target languages;
- Identify and gather content that requires translation. Assess and set priorities based on project needs, coordinating with internal teams to align translation workflows with overall business objectives;
- Collaborate closely with external translators to deliver accurate, culturally relevant, and high-quality translations. Perform final reviews and approvals to maintain consistency and meet brand standards;
- Respond promptly to ad hoc translation needs from various departments, such as adding missing translations, updating outdated content, and making requested adjustments;
- Collaborate with internal teams to align localization efforts with broader company goals and timelines, ensuring timely and effective delivery
Requirements
Requirements:
- Proven experience in translation and localization for digital content, preferably within the OTA or travel industry;
- Familiarity with Markdown syntax to ensure correct formatting of translated content;
- Proficiency in SQL: ability to write SQL queries for mass translation uploads and updates;
- Experience coordinating with outsourced translators or language service providers;
- Knowledge of SEO principles and experience optimizing translated content for search performance;
- Fluency in English. Proficiency in additional languages is an advantage;
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and to manage multiple localization projects efficiently;
- Attention to detail in both linguistic accuracy and technical formatting;
- Familiarity with CAT tools or translation management systems;
- Familiarity with cultural nuances and linguistic differences in multiple languages
