About Us
Damen Song Cam Shipyard (DSCS) is Damen's formal Joint Venture yard in Vietnam and will be the preferred production location for Damen tug and workboats up to 60 meters long. Basic designs and most components are delivered to DSCS by Damen Shipyards Gorinchem. DSCS will complete the detailed design, produce all required production instructions, supplement the remaining components either by her own production or by purchasing / subcontracting and provide project management.
ICT Applications department of DSCS is the department which provides support to local users/departments at DSCS
and international companies in operations such as: Data analysis and reporting, application development, workspace & infrastructure and IT training courses.
The role
A UI/UX designer focuses on enhancing the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) of Microsoft Power BI reports and dashboards. The role as a UX/UI designer is to ensure that the data visualizations are not only functional but also intuitive, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing. Therefore it requires a strong background in both user experience and user interface design, specifically in the context of data visualization and business intelligence. The designer also needs collaboration skills to work across departments and abroad sites to gather user needs, making practical project solutions, and working with project management to coordinate tasks, timelines and tests.
Key accountabilities
- Visual and Interaction design
- Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
- Design visually attractive and consistent Power BI reports and dashboards, adhering to the
company visual standards.
- Define user interaction patterns, including navigation, filtering, and data drill-downs to
create interactive elements.
- Conduct usability testing to gather feedback on the design and functionality of Power BI reports.
- User Research and Analysis
- Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points.
- Gather user feedback and usage data to identify opportunities for improving Power BI reports.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with business analysts, data analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders
to understand requirements and constraints.
- Collaborate with developers to implement design solutions within Power BI and other
visualization tools.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you bring:
- Educational level:
- Bachelor's degree related to Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
- Excellent skills to communicate effectively in English
- Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present and explain design concepts and decisions clearly
- Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
- Able to work independently and proactively with internal & external stakeholders
- Willing to work/learn with other topics which company requires to do
- Proficient with Microsoft O365 product suite
